Susannah and Olivier Souvestre founded Alamere Spirits in 2021 in Marin County, California. A shared but minor mid-life crisis led them to branch out from restaurant ownership into spirits. They use a copper alembic still imported from Bordeaux, France and local California ingredients.
Alamere Falls, a beautiful tidefall (a waterfall that flows into the ocean) in Marin County is what inspired the name. Alamere happens to also be an old spelling of "to the sea" in French.
